CONSTRUCTION:
Our Premium Wooden Window Boxes are made from a base construction of MDF and then they are finished with High Quality Veneers. In most cases we us Black Walnut from the Appalachian Mountains – the finest Walnut growing district in the world. It's the same material that has been used for furniture in the Louvre, Palais de Versailles and Buckingham Palace! This is then sprayed with either varnish or a painted finish. The boxes are then over-sprayed with anti scratch coatings. e avoid the use of solid woods as from our experience this frequently leads to warping and cracking. A veneered box offers a much more stable platform for a long life and also delivers a luxury feel and experience.
THE WINDOW:
The box features a crystal clear tempered glass window in which your favourite image can be displayed. The crystal clear nature of the glass will ensure your work is always seen at is very best. Because it is tempered glass, it is extremely tough and durable and won't scratch an acrylic alternative can be prone to doing.
INTERIOR:
The interior of the box is lined out in a luxurious soft touch material to both present and protect the matted prints, and the gunmetal hinges are both practical and stylish.

We have 3 types of bevel cut mats to choose from: The Ultimate Locking Mat, the Fine Art Mat, and the Standard Mat.

ULTIMATE LOCKING MATS
The Ultimate Locking Mat's patented design guarantees that your prints will never slip. They are a top loading, heavyweight bevel cut mat with a unique slide and lock design.
They allow you to easily slide in your print and lock it in place but they are also completely re-usable. Simply slide out the print and you're ready to use the mat again.
The techy bits:
The mats have a white core throughout and are made from a professional Archival board, which conforms to the Fine Art Guild requirements for Conservation (Level 2). The core is made from alpha cellulose fibres, featuring a soft, natural, white colour that will remain white. Each board is alkaline-sized, acid-free and calcium carbonate buffered for enhanced durability and longevity. Being conservation quality, boards are lignin-free with no optical brighteners. Cover papers are colourfast, resillient and bleed-resistant. The front board is the same as the back board giving it a really top end look and feel.

FINE ART MATS
The Fine Art Mat has been designed to make it quick and easy to mat your fine art prints. One short side of the mat is left unsealed so you can simply lift up the front piece, position your print. Then you simply peel away the tape and seal the mat shut.
The Fine Art mats are made the same archival board back and front just like our Ultimate locking mats with a white core throughout.

STANDARD MATS
The standard mounts are pre-assembled bevel cut mats that are open on 2 sides so you just need to slide your prints in. The front board is made from the same professional Conservation board as our Ultimate mats.
The back board of the standard mat is from the cream core range of mount board. The back board core is made from virgin wood pulp with a characterisitc pale ivory colour. Each board is alkaline-sized and pH neutral.
Typically, the back board has been described as an Economy board. If you cut a hole in the backing board, then the bevelled edge of the back board will discolour.
The box can be purchased with or without mats.

We only use the best grade of UDP memory available. It's the most reliable and much more robust than cheaper alternatives. It's even waterproof!
