WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE SAMPLE PACK
1 x Ultimate Locking Mat in White
1 x Fine Art Mat in Black
1 x Standard Mat in Ivory
1 x Lustre print for testing the Ultimate Mat
Ultimate Locking Mat:
This mat is designed for lustre, glossy and metallic prints or any type of prints that are prone to slipping. Simply slide your print in from the short side of the mat and the unique locking mechanism inside will lock your print into place and ensure it doesn't slip. No glue or tape is required so it's a massive time-saver. You can also unlock the print and slide it out if you want to re-use the mat.
The Ultimate Locking Mat is available in Black, Ivory and White but the mat contained in the sample pack will be WHITE. A lustre print will also be included so you can test out the locking feature.
Fine Art Mat:
The Fine Art Mat is designed for fine art prints that tend to be thicker than regular prints and also have a naturally grippy texture. These characteristics can make it difficult to use a slip-in style mat such as our Ultimate Locking Mat and our Standard Mats. The open ended design makes it super-easy to position your fine art print and then seal the mat closed with the finger-lift tape. This mat is not designed to be re-usable.
The Fine Art Mat is available in Black, Ivory and White but the mat contained in the sample pack will be BLACK.
The Standard Mat can be used for most print types although if using a very thick fine art paper, we would recommend the Fine Art Mat instead. The Standard Mat allows the print to be slipped in from the long side of the mat. It has a different board on the back of the mat and if using with lustre, glossy or metallic prints, you may need to use something like Herma tabs to secure the print and prevent it from slipping.
The Standard Mat is available in Black, Ivory and White but the mat contained in the sample pack will be IVORY.
You can add it to your cart and simply pay the shipping.

FINE ART MATS
The Fine Art Mat has been designed to make it quick and easy to mat your fine art prints. One short side of the mat is left unsealed so you can simply lift it up, position your fine art print, then peel away the tape and seal it closed. They have the same archival board back and front just like our Ultimate locking mats and a white core throughout. They are not designed to be re-usable. The Fine Art Mats are recommended for use in all Premium folio boxes when using Fine Art Prints. They can also be purchased separately in packs of 20.
About the board:
The mats have a white core throughout and are made from a professional Archival board, which conforms to the Fine Art Guild requirements for Conservation (Level 2). The core is made from alpha cellulose fibres, featuring a soft, natural, white colour that will remain white. Each board is alkaline-sized, acid-free and calcium carbonate buffered for enhanced durability and longevity. Being conservation quality, boards are lignin-free with no optical brighteners. Cover papers are colourfast, resillient and bleed-resistant. The front board is the same as the back board giving it a really top end look and feel.
Mats are available in 7 print sizes:
10 x 7 (Overall Size of Mat: 14 x 11)
10 x 8 (Overall Size of Mat: 14 x 11)
12 x 8 (Overall Size of Mat: 14 x 11)
8 x 8 (Overall Size of Mat: 14 x 11)
7 x 5 (Overall Size of Mat: 10 x 8)
8 x 6 (Overall Size of Mat: 10 x 8)
5 x 5 (Overall Size of Mat: 10 x 8)
The mats are available in 3 colours: Black, White and Ivory
All mats are derived from wood. They are a natural product and therefore they can take on or lose moisture based on humidity and temperature.
To keep your mats in perfect condition please take note of these care instructions:
Store mats in their original box
Keep mats flat when stored
Store in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight
When using mats on a reveal wall, only add them to the wall when necessary - don't leave them on the wall overnight or for extended periods of time
If you have mats on display you should lay them flat each night
Using the Fine Art Mat:
Always start on a flat surface – your mat should be laid flat
Lift up the open end of the mat, position the print within the mat.
Once you're happy with the position of your print, peal off the tape and seal the board together by pressing down gently with your fingers.
You may wish to use tape or herma tabs before sealing the mat shut to ensure your print does not move. However, due to the nature of fine art paper, this is generally not necessary.
We recommend you use latex gloves or similar to protect your prints from the oils in your fingers.
The Fine Art Mats are NOT designed to be re-usable.
Are you using a 'reveal wall' for in-person print viewings? Do your prints ever slip? Is it difficult to insert the prints into your mats? Do you end up gluing or taping them and therefore can't re-use the mats?
If you've answered yes to any of the questions above then the Mat is just for you!
Our unique patented slide & lock design makes it easy to insert your prints and 'lock' them in place meaning you’ll no longer have prints slipping in mats. At the same time, you can still easily 'un-lock' the print to remove it and re-use the mat if you wish.
Don’t believe us? Why not try it out to see what all the fuss is about.
